In the 12th minute of the match, Rudy Trotter got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zé Pedro de Queirós was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With an all-out effort, Creekers's Zé Pedro de Queirós threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gary Gamble, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 24th minute, Rodriguinho Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edson Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Bland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Rudy Trotter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Creekers's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudy Trotter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Pedro de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When America Futebol Clube SP's Edson Mendonça in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Paulo Albuquerque was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Desmond Patterson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Creekers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Desmond Patterson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rudy Trotter took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Pedro de Queirós. Zé Pedro de Queirós dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Rudy Trotter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Pedro de Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Gary Gamble scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Pedro de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Creekers defense, Renatinho de Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Bland. The Creekers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Bland should have stopped the shot. 66 minutes into the match, Creekers's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Paulo Albuquerque came free, but Tommy Bland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gary Gamble hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. America Futebol Clube SP's Durvalino Prata shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 69th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tommy Bland but with some difficulty. Luiz Paulo Albuquerque received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tommy Bland came out and tried to block the shot, but Luiz Paulo Albuquerque slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 75th minute. Tommy Bland made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Edson Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Creekers getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Kip Connelly hit a great ball. Perivaldo das Neves hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Zé Pedro de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudy Trotter in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Luiz Paulo Albuquerque left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The America Futebol Clube SP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudy Trotter in the 87th minute of play forced America Futebol Clube SP's goalkeeper Zé Pedro de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renatinho de Castro took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Bland. Tommy Bland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. 95 minutes in the game Alfred Crowder did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tyson Hedrick. The Creekers manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing America Futebol Clube SP to win.
