Poli Timisoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Knoppertz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jens-Uwe Lack in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joey Molina saved Orihuela Club de Fútbol from getting behind. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Orihuela Club de Fútbol's goalkeeper Joey Molina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joey Molina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Andres in the 20th minute of play. In the 25th minute Dominic Haug shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joey Molina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Schmuck came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Orihuela Club de Fútbol's Don Cabezon. But to his dismay, Don Cabezon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Knoppertz in the 31st minute of play forced Orihuela Club de Fútbol's goalkeeper Joey Molina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrik Andres scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joey Molina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ferrando Vilanova made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Poli Timisoara's Jan Kannen. Joey Molina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomas Knoppertz's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Jan Kannen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Joey Molina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas Knoppertz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joey Molina having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Knoppertz to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Orihuela Club de Fútbol's zone, Thomas Knoppertz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joey Molina came out of the goal and Thomas Knoppertz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th of the match, Thomas Knoppertz tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Joey Molina got in the way and made a wonderful save. Orihuela Club de Fútbol's Joey Molina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Orihuela Club de Fútbol from getting a goal against them. If Patrik Andres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 played minutes Orihuela Club de Fútbol got a freekick which was hit by Mingo Carceles. In the 63rd minute, Poli Timisoara's Thomas Knoppertz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joey Molina. Joey Molina yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Dominic Haug scored 1-4 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joey Molina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Orihuela Club de Fútbol's goalkeeper Joey Molina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Knoppertz. Patrik Andres took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joey Molina. Joey Molina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. The audience was convinced that Jens-Uwe Lack's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joey Molina was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Perutxo came free, but Thomas Schmuck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Patrik Andres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Balla hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Ziemowit Zurawski charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ziemowit Zurawski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, Ziemowit Zurawski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mingo Carceles's late challenge caught a Poli Timisoara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mingo Carceles helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 minutes of play, Poli Timisoara's Jens-Uwe Lack made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joey Molina was left in no man's land by his defense there! 98 minutes into the match, Orihuela Club de Fútbol's goalkeeper Joey Molina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jens-Uwe Lack.
