Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) Champions Iasi's Cazimir Zăraşcu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Champions Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Gheondea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Champions Iasi's Sergiu Angheluță proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Champions Iasi from getting a goal against them. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Mikolaj Winszman got a free kick in the 12th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Cazimir Zăraşcu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Champions Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cazimir Zăraşcu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adam Paraszczuk kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Edgar Tarcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Adam Paraszczuk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newcastle United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champions Iasi the free kick. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sergiu Angheluță. Sergiu Angheluță dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 29 played minutes Newcastle United got a freekick which was hit by Adam Paraszczuk. Edgar Tarcu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergiu Angheluță prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eusebiu Gheondea hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Tarcu in the 39th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Kryspin Wyrostek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Champions Iasi got a corner. Newcastle United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. George Vâlcu ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that George Vâlcu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kryspin Wyrostek quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Sergiu Angheluță when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sergiu Angheluță was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Kryspin Wyrostek was a little too slow when Cazimir Zăraşcu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 4-1. Sergiu Angheluță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz in the 63rd minute of the match. Sergiu Angheluță made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz in the 74th minute of play. Newcastle United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mikolaj Winszman in the 75th minute. The corner led Newcastle United's Bernard Seliga to fire away a dangerous shot which Sergiu Angheluță despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roch Wawak to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz put it in 6-2 from a short distance just to the right of Sergiu Angheluță. Champions Iasi's Sergiu Angheluță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Paraszczuk in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sergiu Angheluță was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-2. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz scored 8-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergiu Angheluță, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
