Downchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jamar Paige was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 7th minute Javi Sanchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Alvinegro Carioca getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Sidney Sousa hit a great ball. With a little luck, Alvinegro Carioca's Cássio Aguiar got control of the ball when Vincente Serrano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match, Ismael Marques got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cássio Aguiar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cássio Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamar Paige, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Jamar Paige kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cássio Aguiar. That made the score 2-0 in the 37 minute of play. Sergio Rodríguez charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergio Rodríguez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Downchester City's Sergio Rodríguez got a free kick in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Alvinegro Carioca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ismael Marques was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Tadeu Sarmento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Xepe Gandia made a huge save. Downchester City walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
