After a rather tough play, El Millo de Haedo's Javier Eguzki got a free kick in the 5th minute. Dominic Orcondona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Olguín in the 11th minute of the match. Gustavo Eusko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Saron in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Philadelphia Union FC's Humberto Saron got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes in the game Feliciano Gilabert did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Uriel Isusko. Dominic Orcondona made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Jorge Olguín sent off a good shot on target. Stefan Gustavsson's late challenge caught a El Millo de Haedo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of El Millo de Haedo booed when Philadelphia Union FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philadelphia Union FC's Myroslav Zanevskyi got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Nicolas Azubeli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Faustin Lannoy charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. El Millo de Haedo's Gustavo Eusko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save El Millo de Haedo from getting a goal against them. Philadelphia Union FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
