An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Johnston in the 12th minute of play forced Vejbystrand's goalkeeper Jarl Kalfhage to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 14 minutes on the clock, Patrick Sporran commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 15th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Sporran to maneuver through the defense. Vejbystrand's Jarl Kalfhage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Johnston in the 19th minute of play. Tim Charles charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tim Charles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rangers FC's Tim Charles got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Raymond Johnston's late challenge caught a Vejbystrand's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raymond Johnston helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vejbystrand booed when Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Johnston didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Reece Frissell fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Reece Frissell a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Reece Frissell hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Magne Linqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rangers FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Magne Linqvist scored to the left of an out of position Fergus Fairbairn, making the score, 2-0. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magne Linqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Magne Linqvist dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fergus Fairbairn, 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magne Linqvist to make the kick off. Magne Linqvist took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fergus Fairbairn. Fergus Fairbairn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Magne Linqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Fairbairn having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Magne Linqvist came free, but Fergus Fairbairn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magne Linqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Vejbystrand's Oskar Deckbergh. But to his dismay, Oskar Deckbergh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magne Linqvist in the 69th minute of play. Jarl Kalfhage made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Raymond Johnston sent off a good shot on target. Magne Linqvist scored 6-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fergus Fairbairn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th match minute, Vejbystrand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scottie Moal to maneuver through the defense. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scottie Moal, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 81 minutes into the game, one of Rangers FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Nic Block shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Scottie Moal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magne Linqvist in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute, Oskar Deckbergh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fergus Fairbairn was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. After a rather tough play, Rangers FC's Darius Bontine got a free kick in the 97th minute. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Deckbergh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vejbystrand walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
