The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Teofilo Fernado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Independiente protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Teofilo Fernado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 6th minute, Teofilo Fernado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Independiente's Severino Herena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bakary Ramsamy in the 7th minute of play. Dilan Bobet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Hanot in the 10th minute of play. Arthur Rannou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Severino Herena made a huge save. In the 15th minute Renaud Houzet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Herena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renaud Houzet in the 40th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Severino Herena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute of the match Chaponnay FC got a corner. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bakary Ramsamy ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Independiente's Eriberto Satordi in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chaponnay FC's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eriberto Satordi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evan Le Moullec in the 90th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Severino Herena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Arthur Rannou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Herena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, Chaponnay FC's Brandon Teisseire made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Herena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Independiente's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Chaponnay FC had won, even though Independiente had held more of the ball.
