Edgar Oblemenco hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Avram Chiru made a precise shot to the right of Lukas Kulpys. FK Mintis Vilnius's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Lukas Kulpys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Avram Chiru, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 15 played minutes FK Mintis Vilnius got a freekick which was hit by Kęstutis Skersys. The supporters of FK Mintis Vilnius booed when F.C. YKE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Stanciu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When F.C. FK Mintis Vilnius's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Lunca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 42nd minute İsrafil Yağız shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

YKE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. YKE's Ionică Ike got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Sigitas Ivoška dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Helmuth Duckadam, 5-2. İsrafil Yağız could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Helmuth Duckadam made a huge save. Lukas Kulpys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avram Chiru in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Nicolae Stanciu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lukas Kulpys. FK Mintis Vilnius's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolae Stanciu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. In the 83rdth minute of the game Daniel Lunca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Mintis Vilnius's Lukas Kulpys was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lukas Kulpys showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Stanciu in the 84th minute of the match. Lukas Kulpys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Stanciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 87 played minutes FK Mintis Vilnius got a freekick which was hit by Kęstutis Skersys. Nicolae Stanciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lukas Kulpys read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. When Nicolae Stanciu fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. YKE's protests and gave Nicolae Stanciu a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. YKE's zone, Sigitas Ivoška stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Helmuth Duckadam came out of the goal and Sigitas Ivoška tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The F.C. YKE fans cheered their team off the field, for while FK Mintis Vilnius had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
