Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zacarias Bento ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th match minute, Thor F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Neto to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Godfredo Gabon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard, long distance shot from Norberto Vides flew over the goal. Thor F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Renan de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zacarias Bento, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Catarinense F.C.'s goalkeeper Benicio Gaitan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maicon Couto. A collision led to Thor F.C. getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Paulo José Madureira hit a great ball. In the 77th minute Maicon Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Gaitan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivo Quintal got free with Benicio Gaitan in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alejandro Perutxo during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Catarinense F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Thor F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
