Atlético de Candamil's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Tudor Bodea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Nayely Leon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corneliu Vulpăşin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Aragones, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Atlético de Candamil getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Hustaz Galego hit a great ball. Nayely Leon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Papadima in the 19th minute of play. Luís Aragoness short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Corneliu Vulpăşin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nayely Leon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tudor Bodea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Unicorns ™ booed when Atlético de Candamil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Segura didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Rareș Papadima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Petrică Ţirpescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nayely Leon was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Aragones in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Corneliu Vulpăşin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 63 played minutes Unicorns ™ got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Papadima. 65 minutes into the match, Unicorns ™'s goal looked a bit too open when Luís Aragones came free, but Corneliu Vulpăşin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Atlético de Candamil's goalkeeper Nayely Leon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petrică Ţirpescu. Corneliu Vulpăşin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hustaz Galego in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Unicorns ™ defense, Hustaz Galego kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Corneliu Vulpăşin. The Unicorns ™ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Corneliu Vulpăşin should have stopped the shot. Corneliu Vulpăşin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cordarin Solana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Cordarin Solana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Vulpăşin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tudor Bodea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Unicorns ™'s goalkeeper Corneliu Vulpăşin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Hustaz Galego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Unicorns ™ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Unicorns ™ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
