In the 45th match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Espartaco Castellano to maneuver through the defense. If Romualdo Escurza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdo Salas to make the kick off. Samurai's Roger Klemensson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Samurai from getting a goal against them.
