After a defensive mix-up in Mochila FC's zone, Francisco Ourente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tostão Varela came out of the goal and Francisco Ourente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Abasto fútbol club getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Benjamin Muc hit a great ball. Adelino Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Ernesto Quexal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Pontes in the 22nd minute of the match. If Osvaldo Brun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mochila FC's Tostão Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Muc in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mochila FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Benjamin Muc was slow to take the kick. During this time Abasto fútbol club's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Benjamin Muc got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tostão Varela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sidnei Quintal hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Sidney Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Quexal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Abasto fútbol club made a substitution. Alejo Videl replaced Osvaldo Brun. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Carlos Pontes to make the kick off. Sidney Vander struck a weak shot in the 54th minute.
