To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clive Politiek during the 36th minute. San Lorenzo 11's Aurelio Astudillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clive Politiek in the 96th minute of play. The San Lorenzo 11 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Lorenzo 11 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
