Ruben Romano started the match with the kick off. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gustavo Mendonça sped through Charlotte FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Shannon Marquez. In the 14th match minute, Charlotte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Dobbs to maneuver through the defense. Shannon Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lobo Guará's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kauan Salgado in the 19th minute. A nice corner shot did that Kauan Salgado got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Shannon Marquez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Gustavo Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shannon Marquez was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Vânderson Esteves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruben Romano in the 24th minute. Dudley Vickers kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Miguel Monsalve charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Monsalve the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gustavo Mendonça sped through Charlotte FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Shannon Marquez. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristián Pavon during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Cristián Pavon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Roger Dobbs dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vânderson Esteves, 1-2. Shannon Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Monsalve in the 43rd minute of the match. Charlotte FC's Shannon Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Monsalve in the 45th minute of play. Ruben Romano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Esteves having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gustavo Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. In the 61st match minute, Lobo Guará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Gómez to maneuver through the defense. Marlon Burr took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vânderson Esteves. Lobo Guará's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Lobo Guará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato Arce to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes, Charlotte FC's Ruben Romano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vânderson Esteves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Charlotte FC reached it. The Lobo Guará fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Lobo Guará's Gustavo Mendonça looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Charlotte FC's Shannon Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Charlotte FC from getting a goal against them. Mateus Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shannon Marquez having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Gustavo Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shannon Marquez. Charlotte FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Cristián Pavon hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Gustavo Mendonça had several of the Charlotte FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-8 score and a disappointed Shannon Marquez as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Gustavo Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charlotte FC were furious when Zackary Urmanski was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 96th minute, Zackary Urmanski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Miguel Monsalve kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Shannon Marquez. That made the score 1-9 in the 97 minute of play. Lobo Guará's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
