Damian Tender stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilson Sá's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. After a defensive mix-up in RED BLUE STAR's zone, Hélder Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Tender came out of the goal and Hélder Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vintilă Ilie hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, RED BLUE STAR's Octav Ciocan got a free kick in the 11th minute. Wilson Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erivaldo Coelho hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Victor Răcănel, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Damian Tender showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauan Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Tostão Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Leucuța, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Victor Răcănel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RED BLUE STAR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Damian Tender showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Montesclarense E.C. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hélder Oliveira hit a great ball. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when RED BLUE STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vintilă Ilie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Durval Tinoco sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and RED BLUE STAR's Damian Tender didn't even have to move. Marcel Itu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Tostão Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, RED BLUE STAR's Damian Tender got control of the ball when Hélder Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 46 played minutes Montesclarense E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Coelho. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vasile Leucuța was the one to do the kick off. If Wilson Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Kauan Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montesclarense E.C.'s protests and gave Kauan Guerra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauan Guerra to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, RED BLUE STAR's Octav Ciocan got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Durval Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Damian Tender didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. 78 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s Wilson Sá sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damian Tender narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Kauan Guerra put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Damian Tender. Damian Tender made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kauan Guerra in the 85th minute of play. Marcel Itu hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. RED BLUE STAR's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
