After 18 played minutes Zijdewind SC got a freekick which was hit by Wilco Theuws. Henry Lembeck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elói Branco went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Vitório Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdi Dekens, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Pieter-Jan van der Laan fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zijdewind SC's protests and gave Pieter-Jan van der Laan a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest van der Laan in the 39th minute of play forced Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper Vitório Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Zijdewind SC booed when Quebra Ossos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aírton Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Quebra Ossos FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Vitório Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest van der Laan in the 52nd minute of the match. Ernest van der Laan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferdi Dekens struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. If Gugu Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Lembeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernest van der Laan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Telmo Salles notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Zijdewind SC's Henry Lembeck. Henry Lembeck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 90th minute Elói Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Lembeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Quebra Ossos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
