Spectators: 7458 (Terracing: 5594, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Orçun Baloğlu started the match with the kick off. Ulu Özkutsal scored 0-2 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of İsmet Ülgen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 8 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Oğuzalp Baştürk. İsmet Ülgen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orçun Baloğlu in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Hacı Hastimur left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newells Old Boys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Orçun Baloğlu sped through Cappadocia FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of İsmet Ülgen. İsmet Ülgen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hacı Hastimur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Orçun Baloğlu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of İsmet Ülgen. Cappadocia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orçun Baloğlu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Cappadocia FC's İsmet Ülgen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mevlüt Zeyrek in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Ulu Özkutsal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 32nd minute, but Mehmet Şefik Balcan got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Newells Old Boys hanging dry this time. 43 minutes into the match, Cappadocia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Orçun Baloğlu came free, but İsmet Ülgen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cappadocia FC's İsmet Ülgen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mevlüt Zeyrek in the 44th minute of play. Hacı Hastimur hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

With a little luck, Cappadocia FC's İsmet Ülgen got control of the ball when Mevlüt Zeyrek tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Orçun Baloğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but İsmet Ülgen was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Orçun Baloğlu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving İsmet Ülgen. That made the score 0-7 in the 56 minute of play. In the 64th minute, Ulu Özkutsal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mehmet Şefik Balcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garip İbrahimoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Zikri Temizcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Tan Yatman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Orçun Baloğlu got a free kick in the 71st minute. 74 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Garip İbrahimoğlu came free, but Mehmet Şefik Balcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, Cappadocia FC's Gürkan Yiğit made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mehmet Şefik Balcan was left in no man's land by his defense there! İsmet Ülgen came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Newells Old Boys's Orçun Baloğlu. But to his dismay, Orçun Baloğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-8. 88 minutes into the match, Cappadocia FC's goalkeeper İsmet Ülgen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mevlüt Zeyrek. İsmet Ülgen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orçun Baloğlu in the 91st minute of the match. Mevlüt Zeyrek's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but İsmet Ülgen firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match was over Newells Old Boys could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cappadocia FC throughout the match.
