Ralf Magnusson charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ralf Magnusson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Palloketut booed when Aero Björndalen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Magnusson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aero Björndalen's Niklas Brun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jari Welling in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urmas Vuorinen in the 23rd minute of play forced Aero Björndalen's goalkeeper Niklas Brun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Palloketut's Jari Welling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niklas Brun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Veijo Lähtelä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niklas Brun having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Ralf Magnusson in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Palloketut's Roni Kaitainen. Jari Welling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stig Wästerberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jyrki Rajamäki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niklas Brun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jari Welling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jari Welling took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niklas Brun. Niklas Brun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Niklas Brun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jari Welling went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jyrki Rajamäki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Roger in the 62nd minute of play. Niklas Brun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jari Welling's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. A hard shot 65 in the game by Jari Welling from a close distance when the talented Niklas Brun managed to make a qualified save. Aero Björndalen's players were relieved. Aero Björndalen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Urmas Vuorinen scored to the left of an out of position Niklas Brun, making the score, 1-4. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Jari Welling took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Niklas Brun to make any attempt to save it. 89 minutes into the match, Palloketut's Jari Welling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niklas Brun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jari Welling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Niklas Brun made a huge save. Niklas Brun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jari Welling in the 94th minute of play. Alpi Askolin hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match.
