After 15 minutes, André Luís Trigo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo AP and the SleddKnicks IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, André Luís Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SleddKnicks IF's Ingvar Holmberg was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 16th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 23rdth minute of the game André Luís Trigo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SleddKnicks IF's Otto Smitt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Botafogo AP's zone, Baldomiro Elizardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquinho Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Baldomiro Elizardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Amílton Motta fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botafogo AP's protests and gave Amílton Motta a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute André Luís Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Smitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Agnaldo de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 44 in the game by Ingvar Holmberg from a close distance when the talented Chiquinho Vasconcelos managed to make a qualified save. Botafogo AP's players were relieved. 45 minutes into the game, Ingvar Holmberg lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Chiquinho Vasconcelos.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingvar Holmberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chiquinho Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Holmberg in the 53rd minute of the match. Börje Salming hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. André Luís Trigo took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto Smitt. Otto Smitt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Botafogo AP's Chiquinho Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Holmberg in the 79th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Luís Trigo got free with Otto Smitt in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clemente Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Botafogo AP made a substitution. Humberto Maia replaced André Luís Trigo. Clemente Lopes hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Baldomiro Elizardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Otto Smitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. SleddKnicks IF were victorious despite being under pressure from Botafogo AP for much of the match.
