In the 12th minute, Jozef Koštialik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute, Teodoro Aznaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vladimír Žemľa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The Gimnasia y tiro fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Gimnasia y tiro's Bernardo Mingo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gimnasia y tiro's Damaso Benvido got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jozef Višňa got free with Hilario Ubendu in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richard Weber during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, ŠK Horelica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Weber to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Bernardo Mingo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimír Žemľa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gimnasia y tiro were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after ŠK Horelica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miguel Arixo to strike the kick off in the second half. ŠK Horelica's Vladimír Žemľa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Mingo in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Arixo in the 58th minute of play forced ŠK Horelica's goalkeeper Vladimír Žemľa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hilario Ubendu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jozef Koštialik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimír Žemľa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Mingo in the 61st minute. The supporters of Gimnasia y tiro booed when ŠK Horelica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Weber didn't get a good kick on the ball. ŠK Horelica's Jozef Koštialik got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hilario Ubendu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jozef Koštialik, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Jozef Višňa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hilario Ubendu was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Jozef Koštialik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Ubendu having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, ŠK Horelica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Futej to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the match, Bernardo Mingo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimír Žemľa. ŠK Horelica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardo Mingo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gimnasia y tiro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
