Spectators: 7469 (Terracing: 5603, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Hector Gizon kicked off to start the match. Leo Paskal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After 4 played minutes Argentinos Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Gavino Roldan. Agustin Matro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Gizon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the game, Sebastian Abreu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leo Paskal. Sebastian Abreu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Leo Paskal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sebastian Abreu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. After having played for 12 minutes, Gavino Roldan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentinos Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Roldan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Matias Eate got a free kick in the 16th minute. Argentinos Juniors's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Timoteo Gonzo in the 18th minute. The corner led Argentinos Juniors's Timoteo Gonzo to fire away a dangerous shot which Leo Paskal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Leo Paskal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Abreu in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Argentinos Juniors were awarded a corner. Timoteo Gonzo went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of San Martin de Tucuman booed when Argentinos Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, San Martin de Tucuman's Flavio Blai nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agustin Matro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The San Martin de Tucuman fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 38th minute Hector Gizon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Matro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Argentinos Juniors defense, Flavio Blai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agustin Matro. The Argentinos Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agustin Matro should have stopped the shot. In the 74th play minute Hector Gizon came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Agustin Matro. 2-10. The crowd rose to their feet as Hector Gizon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Agustin Matro. That made the score 2-11 in the 77 minute of play. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Celedonio Peruxu replaced Gregorio Atarrabi. Leo Paskal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Abreu in the 82nd minute of play. Agustin Matro came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by San Martin de Tucuman's Hector Gizon. But to his dismay, Hector Gizon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-12. 94 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Blai came free, but Agustin Matro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, San Martin de Tucuman's You Jing Ming nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agustin Matro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-14. San Martin de Tucuman played a much better game than Argentinos Juniors and deserved their victory. The Argentinos Juniors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
