Murilo Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rua da Pinga. The supporters of Rua da Pinga booed when Curiphila Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cezary Karpinski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Murilo Paiva having to make a save. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Curiphila Eagles's goalkeeper Murilo Paiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 23 minutes of play, Curiphila Eagles's Nelsinho Bastos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexandre Garcia was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the match, Rua da Pinga's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Bastos came free, but Alexandre Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandre Garcia came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Curiphila Eagles's Douglas Gerber. But to his dismay, Douglas Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Alexandre Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Murilo Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidónio Pacheco in the 33rd minute of the match. After 33 played minutes Curiphila Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Breno Simões. Cezary Karpinski struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. The Curiphila Eagles fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Curiphila Eagles's Douglas Gerber looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The coaching staff of Curiphila Eagles protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hudson Vale had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Curiphila Eagles fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! After the first half Curiphila Eagles were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Nelsinho Bastos made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Karpinski in the 51st minute of play forced Curiphila Eagles's goalkeeper Murilo Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Curiphila Eagles supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Curiphila Eagles would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
