Christovao Haces showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson de Senna in the 20th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo de Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Christovao Haces was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Angelo Elvira hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 32 played minutes Club Dep. Soc. Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Blas Bolaños. Laffitte Camino lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Club Dep. Soc. Rodo! The referee gave Itajaí Football Club a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Manuel Pinho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Christovao Haces. 1-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jailson de Senna in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christovao Haces prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson de Senna in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christovao Haces saved Club Dep. Soc. Rodo from getting behind. Christovao Haces took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Jailson de Senna made a precise shot to the right of Christovao Haces. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fabiano Corrêa came free, but Christovao Haces reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Jailson de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christovao Haces saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Paulo Mattos in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Vasco Larrangos. Rodo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Manuel Pinho took the corner. Paulo Mattos's late challenge caught a Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. Rodo's Christovao Haces proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Club Dep. Soc. Rodo from getting a goal against them.
