Joélson Guimarães hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Wilton Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Mandzukic. Perros del sur were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Grêmio FBPA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anacleto Franco took the corner. After 25 minutes, Ademir de Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grêmio FBPA and the Perros del sur players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Ademir de Amaral. In the 27th minute, Jacinto Eleder made a precise shot to the right of Wilton Dante. Gildo Fantini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gildo Fantini was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Perros del sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Oro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 55 played minutes Perros del sur got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Oro. If Jacinto Eleder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perros del sur's Mario Mandzukic got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ademir de Amaral hit a great ball. Miguel Orlondon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edu Zonta in the 63rd minute. After 64 minutes, Marcos Silviano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Perros del sur and the Grêmio FBPA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 66 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Fantini. 69 minutes into the match, Mario Mandzukic had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilton Dante. Grêmio FBPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mario Mandzukic was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 72 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Eleder came free, but Wilton Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perros del sur's Mario Mandzukic got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Jacinto Eleder sped through Grêmio FBPA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilton Dante. Marcos Silviano took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilton Dante. Wilton Dante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Dário Paraibano hit a great ball. After 83 played minutes, Perros del sur's Anacleto Franco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilton Dante came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Perros del sur reached it. After 85 played minutes Perros del sur got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Oro. Perros del sur's Miguel Orlondon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Perros del sur from getting a goal against them. When Gildo Fantini came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildo Fantini couldn't finish the play. 92 minutes into the game, one of Grêmio FBPA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Perros del sur a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anacleto Franco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Grêmio FBPA's Wilton Dante. 7-0.
