The referee ignored Xorxa F.C.'s protests and gave Javier Silva a yellow card for diving instead. Javier Silva hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Julián Dean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st match minute, La Scaloneta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lionel Messi to maneuver through the defense. Éder Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Iago, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Xorxa F.C.'s Éder Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel Messi in the 30th minute of play. La Scaloneta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ángel-Fabián Di María in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute Lionel Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Éder Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julián Dean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Dibag Martinez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Leo Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Scaloneta's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Messi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Éder Mota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leo Messi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 44 played minutes Xorxa F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Javier Silva. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leo Messi was the one to do the kick off. La Scaloneta's Leo Messi got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Xorxa F.C.'s Joel Abrego got a free kick in the 54th minute. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Artemio Naike hit a great ball. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save La Scaloneta from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Éder Mota showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Xorxa F.C.'s Ilixo Idiaquez was substituted for Javier Silva. Artemio Naike kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dibag Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julián Dean in the 77th minute of the match. Ilixo Idiaquez charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ilixo Idiaquez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Abrego in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dibag Martinez saved La Scaloneta from getting behind. In the 81st minute of the match Xorxa F.C. got a corner. La Scaloneta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Francesco Camacho ran over to the corner to take the kick. Prudencio Polo kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Xorxa F.C.'s Carles Mezquita got a free kick in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. La Scaloneta had won after a very even match.
