After 13 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Panagiotis Bourousis. Manos Papaiakovou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Arne Danielsson in the 19th minute. After 21 minutes of play, Al-Slottshöjden's Bengt-Arne Danielsson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manos Papaiakovou was left in no man's land by his defense there! Christodoulos Vazakas kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute David Ahlstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manos Papaiakovou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manos Papaiakovou was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and David Ahlstedt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. David Ahlstedt really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Manos Papaiakovou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Arne Danielsson in the 31st minute. Jens-Ola Vollander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manos Christodoulou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes Al-Slottshöjden got a freekick which was hit by Egil Malmberg. A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Manos Christodoulou hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Panagiotis Bourousis to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Bergstedt during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when Al-Slottshöjden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Bergstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manos Papaiakovou was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Panagiotis Bourousis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Jens-Ola Vollander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Martin Bergstedt came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Al-Slottshöjden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Bergstedt couldn't finish the play. After 78 minutes, Ntinos Vounatsos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Go Ahead Eagles and the Al-Slottshöjden players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manos Papaiakovou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Ahlstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Manos Papaiakovou came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Al-Slottshöjden's David Ahlstedt. But to his dismay, David Ahlstedt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Apostolos Antoniou charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Apostolos Antoniou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Apostolos Antoniou kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Go Ahead Eagles defense, Bengt-Arne Danielsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manos Papaiakovou. The Go Ahead Eagles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manos Papaiakovou should have stopped the shot. Al-Slottshöjden's Jens-Ola Vollander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panagiotis Bourousis in the 94th minute of play. Manos Papaiakovou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt-Arne Danielsson in the 96th minute of the match. Al-Slottshöjden were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Go Ahead Eagles for a fine match.
