With an all-out effort, Locura Académica's Michel Montenegro threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jairo Domingues, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 31 minutes into the game, Pascual Paio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Michel Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pascual Paio might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michel Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pascual Paio ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the game, Pascual Paio lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Michel Montenegro. After 39 played minutes Maverick Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Linhares. Michel Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Tximitx in the 41st minute. In the 43rd match minute, Locura Académica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Firmo to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raimundo Abraão made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Pascual Paio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Michel Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Michel Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Lartaun in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Locura Académica's Leo Tximitx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Michel Montenegro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. In the 65th minute, Pascual Paio made a precise shot to the right of Michel Montenegro. Maverick Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. If Leo Tximitx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Locura Académica booed when Maverick Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pascual Paio took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Michel Montenegro. Michel Montenegro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Locura Académica's Leo Tximitx got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Maverick Futebol Clube's Wit Chuchro got a free kick in the 95th minute. If Jairo Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Locura Académica players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
