The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nilson Paranaense made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Augustin Horea sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Adam Stamatiu got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute, Simão de Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mamutes EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Club Sportiv Medgidia's Nicu Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bola Forte in the 18th minute of play. Cido Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Nilson Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augustin Horea, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Nicu Arghirescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão de Lara in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes, Sebastian Matei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Sportiv Medgidia and the Mamutes EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Sebastian Matei got a free kick in the 38th minute. When Mamutes EC's Bola Forte in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Sportiv Medgidia's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Soares in the 45th minute of play forced Club Sportiv Medgidia's goalkeeper Nicu Arghirescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Mamutes EC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Club Sportiv Medgidia getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ferdinand Hidiș hit a great ball. A hard shot by Cido Cosme from long distance, 54 minutes into the match, got Nicu Arghirescu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 57 played minutes Club Sportiv Medgidia got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Matei. After 61 played minutes Mamutes EC got a freekick which was hit by Bola Forte. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Sebastian Matei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Sportiv Medgidia's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Matei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 66 minutes into the game, Ferdinand Hidiș was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportiv Medgidia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mamutes EC the free kick. In the 66th match minute, Club Sportiv Medgidia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinand Hidiș to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Bola Forte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicu Arghirescu was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Nicu Arghirescu made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Matheus Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. Simão de Lara's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nicu Arghirescu firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 74 minutes of play Club Sportiv Medgidia's Sebastian Matei was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Sebastian Matei got a free kick in the 75th minute. Cido Cosme, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edvaldo Soares's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nicu Arghirescu firmly grabbed it by the left post. With an all-out effort, Mamutes EC's Nicu Arghirescu threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edvaldo Soares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Adam Stamatiu fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Sportiv Medgidia's protests and gave Adam Stamatiu a yellow card for diving instead. Adam Stamatiu hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Mamutes EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mamutes EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
