Toninho Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Paranaense having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mamutes EC's Walmyr Hoffmann got a free kick in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, SUPERSTAR - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Bola Forte came free, but Wellington Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luciano Matos during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mamutes EC's Davi de Queiroz was substituted for Bola Forte. Luciano Matos hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmyr Hoffmann in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wellington Donatello saved SUPERSTAR - DMZ from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
