Aracatiara EC's Toninho Tepedino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Aracatiara EC from getting a goal against them. Desiderio Tancredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Toninho Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 12 minutes, Giovani Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aracatiara EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovani Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the game, Horácio Pontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ovidio Maureo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ovidio Maureo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Vergílio in the 18th minute of the match. When Sportivo Ben Hur's Bruno Maraman in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aracatiara EC's goalie prevented a goal. Sportivo Ben Hur were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Aracatiara EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Desiderio Tancredo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Sportivo Ben Hur's corner Desiderio Tancredo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Toninho Tepedino quite easily take care of the ball. Edmundo Cavalcante lost his temper 30 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. With a little luck, Aracatiara EC's Toninho Tepedino got control of the ball when Desiderio Tancredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Desiderio Tancredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Toninho Tepedino made a huge save. If Ricardinho Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toninho Tepedino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Desiderio Tancredo in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Maraman to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Giovani Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Maraman in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Toninho Tepedino saved Aracatiara EC from getting behind. Toninho Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Maraman in the 58th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Ben Hur's Desiderio Tancredo got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 71stth minute of the game Bruno Maraman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aracatiara EC's Toninho Tepedino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 74 minutes into the game, Dênis Donato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aracatiara EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportivo Ben Hur the free kick. A collision led to Aracatiara EC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Dênis Donato hit a great ball. Celso Incendio charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celso Incendio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Sportivo Ben Hur got a freekick which was hit by Celso Incendio. When Celso Incendio came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Sportivo Ben Hur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Incendio couldn't finish the play. Virgílio Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The supporters of Aracatiara EC booed when Sportivo Ben Hur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Ruy didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Aracatiara EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sportivo Ben Hur.
