Purcaresti CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionuț Gane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ionuț Gane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurel Tilea having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Avram Ciprian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute of the match Francisc Codruț sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romeo Hizo skillfully saved the ball. In the 32nd minute, Cezar Novăceanu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aurel Tilea. The goal made the score 1-0. 2-0 became the score in the 35th minute when Cezar Novăceanu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionuț Gane got free with Aurel Tilea in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 42nd minute of the match Liviu Sbârcea completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Liviu Sbârcea a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Liviu Sbârcea got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Ionuț Gane's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aurel Tilea firmly grabbed it by the left post. Romeo Hizo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gigi Câmpeanu's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Martin Bacanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Purcaresti CSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC UNIREA Alba Iulia the free kick. After 47 played minutes Purcaresti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Martin Bacanu. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionuț Gane was the one to do the kick off. Cezar Novăceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurel Tilea having to interfere. Alin Agud charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alin Agud the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alin Agud hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Aurel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionuț Gane in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Cezar Novăceanu came free, but Aurel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Purcaresti CSS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Avram Ciprian in the 67th minute. A nice corner shot did that Avram Ciprian got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aurel Tilea quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ionuț Gane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurel Tilea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ionuț Gane's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Novăceanu in the 72nd minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Aurel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Purcaresti CSS's Ionuț Gane got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the game, Purcaresti CSS's Ionuț Gane nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurel Tilea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Aurel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionuț Gane in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Novăceanu in the 81st minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Aurel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ionuț Gane came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Purcaresti CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ionuț Gane couldn't finish the play. Cezar Novăceanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Ionuț Gane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurel Tilea. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionuț Gane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionuț Gane in the 97th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Aurel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Purcaresti CSS were the better team. Purcaresti CSS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
