An unexpectedly hard shot by Alin Feroiu in the 6th minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Cássio de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gavril Niculiță recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alin Feroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gigi Câmpeanu in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio de Senna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gigi Câmpeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Gigi Câmpeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio de Senna having to interfere. Claudinho Saldanha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Nechifor Oargă made a huge save. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Gigi Câmpeanu hit a great ball. Cássio de Senna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 43 played minutes, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Francisc Codruț shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cássio de Senna came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC UNIREA Alba Iulia reached it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

If Liviu Sbârcea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Cătălin Amuguroancei managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cătălin Amuguroancei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio de Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gigi Câmpeanu during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Francisc Codruț got a free kick in the 74th minute. Nechifor Oargă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Andrade in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Gigi Câmpeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudinho Saldanha scored 1-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nechifor Oargă, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cássio de Senna made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Gigi Câmpeanu sent off a good shot on target. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC UNIREA Alba Iulia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
