In the 19th minute Vergaray Echeto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Belo Academy getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Breno Rodrigues hit a great ball. Paulo Renato Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Madeo Ramos in the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cuatrodeocho's zone, Vágner Sergipano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quinito Cifuentes came out of the goal and Vágner Sergipano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vergaray Echeto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Paulo Renato Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leopoldo Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Carlos Alberto Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Quinito Cifuentes made a huge save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
