Zakir Novruzov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tadeusz Dziechciowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Carriedo during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tadeusz Dziechciowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Godoy having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Bengt-Arne Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zakir Novruzov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Åberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Sakura Storm's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Arne Åberg came free, but Zakir Novruzov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Arne Åberg in the 57th minute of play forced Sakura Storm's goalkeeper Zakir Novruzov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bengt-Arne Åberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zakir Novruzov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bengt-Arne Åberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Sakura Storm's Zakir Novruzov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Arne Åberg in the 59th minute of play. Vinícius Juniors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Florencio Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ROSARIO CENTRAL F.C.'s Zbigniew Hejza was substituted for Cleto Onbera. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeusz Dziechciowski in the 73rd minute of play forced ROSARIO CENTRAL F.C.'s goalkeeper Florencio Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zakir Novruzov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César Bustamante's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ROSARIO CENTRAL F.C.'s zone, Vinícius Juniors stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Godoy came out of the goal and Vinícius Juniors tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Bengt-Arne Åberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, ROSARIO CENTRAL F.C.'s goalkeeper Florencio Godoy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tadeusz Dziechciowski. After 95 minutes, César Bustamante made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sakura Storm's Zakir Novruzov tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
