To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, Felipe Carlomagno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Basílio Maranhense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Léo Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hortêncio Linhares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Gavino Olo made a huge save. 29 minutes into the match, Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Emerson Cruz came free, but Gavino Olo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, Gavino Olo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 39 minutes into the match, Margarita's goalkeeper Gavino Olo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mandi Oca. After a rather tough play, Margarita's Felipe Carlomagno got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emerson Cruz in the 43rd minute of play forced Margarita's goalkeeper Gavino Olo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Mandi Oca notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Margarita's Gavino Olo. Gavino Olo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Higinio Urti to make the kick off. Margarita's Gavino Olo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mandi Oca in the 52nd minute of play. Giovani Mattos lost his temper 56 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of INTER FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Margarita:s goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Linhares in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gavino Olo saved Margarita from getting behind. After 62 minutes Margarita's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ricardinho Batista who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on INTER FC's corner Ricardinho Batista fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gavino Olo quite easily take care of the ball. Gavino Olo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Linhares in the 65th minute of the match. Mandi Oca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Léo Trigo in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gavino Olo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Margarita's zone, Mandi Oca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Olo came out of the goal and Mandi Oca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the INTER FC defense, Higinio Urti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basílio Maranhense. The INTER FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio Maranhense should have stopped the shot. In the 86th match minute, INTER FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Alves to maneuver through the defense. Margarita's Gavino Olo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Linhares in the 88th minute of play. In the 90thth minute of the game Hortêncio Linhares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Margarita's Gavino Olo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Margarita getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Ruperto Bento hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Margarita walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
