But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zbigniew Domalik couldn't finish the play. Boguslaw Bartochowski took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Prospero Aballe. Prospero Aballe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Prospero Aballe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zbigniew Domalik, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Bialski Bastion Legii's Miroslaw Gniech suffered a concussion after 23 minutes and had to leave the field. 23 minutes into the game, Tobias Sergi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Cavern Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bialski Bastion Legii the free kick. Bialski Bastion Legii's Roman Klocko was substituted for Miroslaw Gniech. A collision led to The Cavern Club getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Tobias Sergi hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes Bialski Bastion Legii got a freekick which was hit by Jerzy Gonsiewski. Stig Emander received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roman Plachetka came out and tried to block the shot, but Stig Emander slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 34th minute. Roman Plachetka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Emander, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerzy Gonsiewski in the 43rd minute of play forced The Cavern Club's goalkeeper Prospero Aballe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbigniew Domalik to make the kick off. Bialski Bastion Legii's Roman Plachetka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolás Burdisso in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Bialski Bastion Legii's Jerzy Gonsiewski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Prospero Aballe. Prospero Aballe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Marian Radziszewski hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Roman Plachetka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Sergi in the 72nd minute of the match. After 74 played minutes Bialski Bastion Legii got a freekick which was hit by Stanislaw Odachowski. Marian Radziszewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Prospero Aballe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Cavern Club's Prospero Aballe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save The Cavern Club from getting a goal against them. Boguslaw Bartochowski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Prospero Aballe firmly grabbed it by the left post. Zbigniew Domalik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Prospero Aballe made a huge save. Marian Radziszewski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Prospero Aballe came out and tried to block the shot, but Marian Radziszewski slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 85th minute. After a rather tough play, Bialski Bastion Legii's Stanislaw Odachowski got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute, Boguslaw Bartochowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bialski Bastion Legii eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
