In the 3rd minute Angel Di Maria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clodoveo Donzel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when Cementerio Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Fagildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute, Angel Di Maria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clodoveo Donzel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. If Mauro Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 박 십 scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto George, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Marcos-Alberto Rojo got a free kick in the 24th minute. Marcos-Alberto Rojo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting de Gijón! Fidel Rico walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Etxahun in the 31st minute of play forced Cementerio Club's goalkeeper Clodoveo Donzel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Cementerio Club defense, Wilfredo Etxahun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clodoveo Donzel. The Cementerio Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clodoveo Donzel should have stopped the shot. In the 34th minute, Mauro Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when 박 십 made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Rico came free, but Fausto George reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 54 minutes of play, Cementerio Club's 박 십 made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fausto George was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fidel Rico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when 박 십 came free, but Fausto George reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto George showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Rico, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Angel Di Maria fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting de Gijón's protests and gave Angel Di Maria a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th minute, Angel Di Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when 박 십 came free, but Fausto George reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cementerio Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fidel Rico in the 69th minute. A nice corner shot did that Fidel Rico got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fausto George quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 70 minutes into the game, Sporting de Gijón's Mauro Perez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clodoveo Donzel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Cementerio Club's 박 십 got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Desiderio Koldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto George having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by 박 십 in the 92nd minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 박 십 hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
