With a couple of smart ball manuevers Veikka Koskinen in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Georg Vallin saved Protegéerna from getting behind. 40 minutes into the match, Protegéerna's goal looked a bit too open when Veikka Koskinen came free, but Georg Vallin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kultapossukerho were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Protegéerna's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Andy Jackson took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Andy Jackson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Georg Vallin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
