Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Mauro Matos made the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Xentrias got a freekick which was hit by Albert Åberg. When Jussi Björling fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 90th minute Gustavo Isazi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Busk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Isazi in the 91st minute of play forced Xentrias's goalkeeper Stig Busk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Bernaldo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stig Busk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The Xentrias fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Northern California were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
