Ellsworth Lindsay took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otávio Massa. Otávio Massa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. With an all-out effort, Danone CC's Brice Leach threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vladimir de Almeida, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Varennes's much stronger midfield.
