Vincente Monzon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonah Ryan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Jonah Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincente Monzon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Faron might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lumír Vosecký. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conrado Faron ran back to his position shaking his head. Lumír Vosecký made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Gilesindo Tarapiella sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Caaguazu's zone, Chandler Bing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincente Monzon came out of the goal and Chandler Bing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vincente Monzon made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Jonah Ryan sent off a good shot on target. Caaguazu's Vincente Monzon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chandler Bing in the 66th minute of play. Gavino Cresconio's late challenge caught a American Airlines's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gavino Cresconio helped the player get up and apologised. Caaguazu's Mauro Bocaran was substituted for Reyes Barcenilla. When the match had been going on for 70 minutes, American Airlines's Joseph Mahoney got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Vincente Monzon. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Mahoney in the 97th minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Vincente Monzon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alexis Couch came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the American Airlines fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexis Couch couldn't finish the play. Arlo Albiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over American Airlines could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Caaguazu throughout the match.
