With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ludomil Plachetka in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilfredo Rodriguez saved Pindobassu EC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeff Beck in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adam Porajewski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Wy-pas booed when Pindobassu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juras Damaševicius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilfredo Rodriguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludomil Plachetka, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Krzysztof Wieczorek received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wilfredo Rodriguez came out and tried to block the shot, but Krzysztof Wieczorek slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. When Radomir Mentus came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Wy-pas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radomir Mentus couldn't finish the play. Geovânio Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeff Beck was the one to do the kick off.
