After a rather tough play, Sportivo Constitución's Luis Mergildo got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 7 minutes, Anselmo Johans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the General Velásquez and the Sportivo Constitución players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, General Velásquez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Johans to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in General Velásquez's zone, Jesus Turi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolf Holmgren came out of the goal and Jesus Turi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnold Schwarzenegger hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesus Turi in the 12th minute of play forced General Velásquez's goalkeeper Rolf Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Teo Poz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Constitución's zone, Teofan Bozadzhiyski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Libertad came out of the goal and Teofan Bozadzhiyski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Americo Txomin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Rolf Holmgren made a huge save. Rolf Holmgren made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Oscar Dimas sent off a good shot on target. After 35 played minutes Sportivo Constitución got a freekick which was hit by Luis Mergildo. Sportivo Constitución's Gaspar Libertad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apolo Irigoyen in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guntademaro Goyenechea in the 37th minute of play forced Sportivo Constitución's goalkeeper Gaspar Libertad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jesus Turi was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Guntademaro Goyenechea reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gaspar Libertad. The goal made the score 1-1. If Nikiforos Iakovatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Americo Txomin struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Rolf Holmgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Constitución. Sportivo Constitución's Rodolfo Cordara was substituted for Jesus Turi. Nikiforos Iakovatos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Jorge Vicente Squella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Libertad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustav Tidéksson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 86th playminute. Sportivo Constitución's Gaspar Libertad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guntademaro Goyenechea in the 91st minute of play. The Sportivo Constitución fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. General Velásquez were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
