An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucjan Sokol in the 6th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Marco Jamieson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The 2kC Poznań fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when 2kC Poznań's Lucjan Sokol looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Volders in the 9th minute of play forced 2kC Poznań's goalkeeper Eugeniusz Wachna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute Lucjan Sokol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Jamieson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 2kC Poznań's Eugeniusz Wachna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save 2kC Poznań from getting a goal against them. Elias Torfs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Eugeniusz Wachna made a huge save. Franciszek Kostrzewa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marco Jamieson. SK Gullegem's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SK Gullegem's zone, Radoslaw Banach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Jamieson came out of the goal and Radoslaw Banach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eugeniusz Wachna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacky Jamieson in the 31st minute. SK Gullegem's Marco Jamieson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucjan Sokol in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Radoslaw Banach made a precise shot to the right of Marco Jamieson. SK Gullegem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 42nd match minute, SK Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerrit Quintens to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radoslaw Banach to make the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Czeslaw Hoffman put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in 2kC Poznań fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! The referee gave SK Gullegem a penalty, 53 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Remco de Nooter, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 2kC Poznań's Eugeniusz Wachna. 1-2. Eugeniusz Wachna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Volders, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Konstanty Rode hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Michael Verhaeghen kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Michael Verhaeghen fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Gullegem's protests and gave Michael Verhaeghen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, SK Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Verhaeghen to maneuver through the defense. Marco Jamieson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucjan Sokol in the 80th minute. Johnny Oyen made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by 2kC Poznań's Franciszek Kostrzewa. The 2kC Poznań supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing 2kC Poznań would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
