Hermano Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Wágner Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Torcato Paião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Ferrão kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Wágner Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torcato Paião in the 20th minute of play. Alcides Lobo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes Atlético Micaelense got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Cerqueira. After 29 played minutes, Juventudes Libertárias's Rubinho Loureiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alexandre Paixão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Juventudes Libertárias reached it. A hard and well directed shot from Rubinho Loureiro led 29 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Atlético Micaelense's Alexandre Paixão became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-0. Alexandre Paixão made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Agostinho Almeida sent off a good shot on target. Alexandre Paixão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agostinho Almeida in the 37th minute. Leonel Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Torcato Paião stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juventudes Libertárias's Noel Valle got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Noel Valle off the ground. After a rather tough play, Juventudes Libertárias's Noel Valle got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Juventudes Libertárias's zone, Alcides Lobo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wágner Seco came out of the goal and Alcides Lobo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58thth minute of the game Torcato Paião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Juventudes Libertárias's Wágner Seco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Torcato Paião's late challenge caught a Juventudes Libertárias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torcato Paião helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Juventudes Libertárias booed when Atlético Micaelense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torcato Paião didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Almeida in the 67th minute of play forced Atlético Micaelense's goalkeeper Alexandre Paixão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 played minutes Juventudes Libertárias got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Faria. In the 76th minute, Torcato Paião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonel Faria lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Juventudes Libertárias! Wágner Seco had in the 87thth minute some difficulties stopping Hermano Amaro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 90th minute, Rubinho Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience cheered when Hermano Amaro's long shot passed Wágner Seco's right side. It was 1-1, 90 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute Hermano Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
