Valter Klack made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Wilco Kosterman sent off a good shot on target. Valter Klack was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ruud Geels showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 20 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Félix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kees Veentjer. Wilco Kosterman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Valter Klack when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlinhos Félix in the 43rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlinhos Félix in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kees Veentjer saved Verwachting from getting behind. The Verwachting players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Here Comes the Hammer were winning 2-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ruud Geels was the one to do the kick off. Franck Bakhuis made in the 69th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ruud Geels. Here Comes the Hammer's Michael Sigfridsson was substituted for Emil Niemoj. After 75 minutes Verwachting's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hasse Brasse who took care of the corner kick. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Verwachting from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Here Comes the Hammer had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
