After 20 minutes of play, XV de Piracicaba's Remo Goiano made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lino Naelio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute Remo Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Naelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michel Pernambucano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remo Goiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonzalo Jurdan in the 51st managed to get into a good position.
