The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Vila Mascote FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 14th play minute Jan Larsson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Donoghue Lester. 1-1. Délio Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Åke Nordlander having to interfere. Jan-Åke Nordlander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Sarmento in the 27th minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo do Vale hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Jan-Åke Nordlander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dick Hagberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Åke Nordlander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Jan-Åke Nordlander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

FF Små Gröna Män's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vila Mascote FC the free kick. In the 54th match minute, FF Små Gröna Män was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Ahlbom to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, FF Små Gröna Män's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Brito came free, but Jan-Åke Nordlander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Vila Mascote FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jean Sarmento hit a great ball. In the 72nd match minute, Vila Mascote FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Meireles to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of FF Små Gröna Män:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vila Mascote FC:s goal. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Jan-Åke Nordlander successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Svante Blom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, FF Små Gröna Män's goalkeeper Jan-Åke Nordlander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean Sarmento. Vila Mascote FC were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after FF Små Gröna Män's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Franklin Sarmento took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Franklin Sarmento got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jan-Åke Nordlander quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 90th minute Jean Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Åke Nordlander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dick Hagberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donoghue Lester having to interfere. Vila Mascote FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
