Ferreira Lopes MZC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Vicente Richie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eustacio Estavan charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Tomé Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Iratze, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 35 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by Dário Martins. After 37 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Vianna. Artemio Iratze scored 2-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomé Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

Tomé Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Artemio Iratze went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Artemio Iratze's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomé Montenegro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Artemio Iratze cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Tomé Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Vicente Richie fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luganeros AFC's protests and gave Vicente Richie a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th minute, Vicente Richie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Vicente Richie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luganeros AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. The supporters of Ferreira Lopes MZC booed when Luganeros AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Domenec didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute of the match Dedé Paiva sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alejo Gaspard skillfully saved the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Ferreira Lopes MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Iratze came free, but Tomé Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 95 played minutes Luganeros AFC got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Richie. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Luganeros AFC had won after a very even match.
