Bill Geerds made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitaliy Fedchenko in the 2nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Evert Roelofs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Osdorp FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert Roelofs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serbülent Baysan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save FC Anderlecht Huachipato from getting a goal against them.
